Doctors resume duty but vow to continue stir

Jaipur, June 2 (UNI) Resident doctors here have resumed duties but vowed to continue their stir through peaceful means.

Dr Rashim Kataria, co-ordinator, Youth for Equality, Rajasthan, said, ''We have joined our duties following the Supreme Court ruling but during our off-duty hours, we would concentrate on spreading public awareness against the quota in higher educational institutions. We will do so for six weeks, the time Supreme Court has given for the Centre to decide on the reservation issue.'' He said they would continue their candle light marches, walks and door-to door campaign during their off-duty hours to make the common people aware about the futility of reservation.

Five faculty members of Sawai Mansingh Medical College are still on the relay hunger strike. Another five members of irrigation department are also on hunger strike, lending support to the cause of doctors.
