Court rejects bail plea of 'Godmother' Santokben's son
Rajkot, Jun 2 (UNI) A fast track court today rejected the bail plea of Kandhal Jadeja, husband of Rekha Jadeja who was killed last month here as a fallout of political rivalry.
Kandhal, son of 'Godmother' Santokben Jadeja, who is an accused in the murder of BJP corporator Keshu Odedera, had sought 15 days' bail to go to Allahabad to immerse the ashes of his slain wife in the confluence. He had also stated that he wanted to go to Dehra Dun for his children's admission in a school there.
However, judge C K Nakrani rejected his application and sent him to Rajkot jail.
Kandhal has been in custody on charges of murdering Keshu Odedera in March last year, allegedly carried out as part of revenge killings against those who killed his father Sarman Munjha, the original gangleader, in December 1986.
Meanwhile, police said four persons have been detained for questioning in the Rekha Jadeja murder case. One of them was Sailesh, a servant, who was present in her house at the time of the incident. Another person, Jetha bhaiya Odhedra, was detained after Rekha's 12-year-old daughter told the police that he too was there at that time. Jetha is Santokben's nephew. Upon interrogation, Shailesh and Jetha gave the names of the other two, whose identities the police refused to divulge.
