Coorg WildLife Society against pulling powerline to Kerala

Madikeri, June 2 (UNI) The Coorg WildLife Society today took strong objection to the Power Grid Corporation of India's move to pull a 400 KV powerline to Kerala from Nagarahole National Park as it would affect flora and fauna.

Addressing a press conference here, Society President Colonel Muthanna said there were strongly against the line passing through Dubare, Devamachi, Maldare and Kutta. Instead, the Corporation could pull the line through an already existing route.

The line would also disturb the Elephant corridor in Devamachi and Dubare, he added.

Cauvery Sena Convener Ravi Chengappa threatened to launch a protest, if the government did not drop its move.
