Congress launches campaign in AP

Visakhapatnam, June 2 : Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao today exuded confidence that the party would repeat its impressive victory in the municipal and co-operative elections by winning the elections to local bodies too.

Launching the party's campaign through the 'grama bheri'' programme in Visakhapatnam Anakapalli and Vizianagaram districts, he claimed that his party would get 70 percent of the votes. ''we won 86 per cent of the seats in the minicpalities and 100 per cent in the co-operative elections. We would win these elections too, not to wield power but to take up greater responsibility of serving you'', he said.

Mr Rao praised Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's commitment and urge to serve peole, AICC General Secretary P Sudhakar Reddy, state commercial taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna and other senior party leaders participated.
