Cong should clarify stand on Telangana: Venkaiah
Hyderabad, June 2 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today demanded that the Congress clarify its stand on the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the BJP's stand towards smaller states was well known as it was during the NDA rule that small states like Uttaranchal, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh were created.
''People will believe when we say something as we always stuck to what we said. Congress is known for saying something and doing something else. So thay should clearly state what their stand is about Telangana without dodging'' he said.
Mr Naidu said the BJP had clearly announced its stand during the party's national meeting and it was now upto the Congress to prove its sincerity with regard to the formation of Telangana.
Replying to a question, he said how can the Congress ask the BJP to give a letter to the Committee of Ministers about Telangana, when it had itself not done so.
On Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul Mahajan's condition, he said the party was worried that bad things were happening to Pramod Mahajan's family.
