Clijsters and Hingis make up for lost time
PARIS, Jun 2 (Reuters) Belgian Kim Clijsters and Switzerland's Martina Hingis made up for lost time today with quickfire victories in the French Open second round.
The respective second and 12th seeds lost only seven games between them in matches which had been postponed from Thursday due to rain.
Clijsters, twice a runner-up at Roland Garros, beat Conchita Martinez Granados of Spain 6-0 6-3 and Hingis, who is back at the French Open for the first time since 2001, crushed Czech Zuzana Ondraskova 6-1 6-3 in bright sunshine.
In today's busy schedule, defending men's champion Rafael Nadal also plays his delayed second round match against American lucky loser Kevin Kim and top seed Roger Federer faces Olympic champion Nicolas Massu of Chile in the third round.
French women's top seed Amelie Mauresmo takes on Serbian Jelena Jankovic and Russian fourth seed Maria Sharapova plays Australia's Alicia Molik in another third round encounter.
