Body of bank officer arrives here from Srinagar

Kolkata, Jun 2 (UNI) A pall of gloom descended on the city airport as the body of Saraj Dutta (58), who succumbed to Wednesday's terrorist attack in Srinagar today, arrived on a flight of Indian tonight.

The body was carried by his injured son Sujoy and his mother, who were also in Srinagar on vacation, in the flight via Delhi, sources said. Mr Dutta, a State Bank of India officer had gone on vacation along with his family members. His daughter-in-law, who was also injured, was still in a Srinagar hospital. She is expected to fly here tomorrow.

Earlier, twenty tourists including 12 injured, were flown in here by a BSF aircraft.

The body was handed over to local relatvies for last rites.

West Bengal Sports Minister Subash Chakraborty was present at the airport.
