BJP hopes to make India Mahaan Bharat'
Mahbubnagar, Jun 2 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh today said the party would turn the country into Developed nation and a Mahaan Bharat' after it comes back to power at the Centre.
Addressing the public meeting organised by the state BJP unit here, Mr Singh said that his party was committed to develop the nation in the area of agriculture and by adopting an independent foreign policy.
Alleging that the UPA government has bowed down before the US by signing the civil nuclear power deal which allows the US to check the nuclear power stations in the country, he said that BJP never compromised on foreign policy which threatened national interest in the area of development.
Stating that the NDA government had taken several steps to improve the living conditions of the farmers during its regime, Mr Singh said the government would not permit the farmers to commit suicides due to increasing debt and distress. He asserted that there is a need to introduce farm income insurance scheme to benefit the farmers.
Mr Singh said the scheme would improve the farmers' standard of living and increase their purchasing capacity.
Claiming that the country was also facing internal security threat due to increase in terrorist attacks on temples and other holy places, he charged that the UPA government had scrapped POTA and did not bring any legislation to curb the activities of terrorists in the country.
