Bhatkal records 11 cm rain

Bangalore, June 2 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Bhatkal 11, Ankola, Shirali 10 each, Kumta, Kundapura 9 each, Udupi 8, Honavar, Karwar, Siddapura(Udupi dt) 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm); Mulki, Karkala, Yellapura, Hosanagar, Linganamakki, Sringri 6 each, Siddapura (Uttara Kannada dt, Talaguppa, Thirthahalli, Kalasa Mudigere 5 each, Mani, Dharmasthala, Joida Sirsi, Sagar Tyagarthi, Jayapura, Kammardi, Panambur 4 ecah.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning:Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin:Moderate to heavy rain may occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and many places over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over north Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.

FISHRIES WARNING : Strong onshore winds from southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall is expected over the State.

Forecast for Bangalore: Partly cloudy. A spell of light rain likely. Strong surface winds.
