Akbar appeals for justice from IFA regarding Mama, Nabi, Suresh

Kolkata, Jun 2 (UNI) The embroil between Mohameddan Sporting and East Bengal over transfer of three players today took a dramatic today with black-white club president M J Akbar appealing from justice from the IFA in this regard.

In what looked like a rewind to the last century when club transfers hogged all the limelight, Mohameddan Sporting today evening paraded its new recruits at a press meet that was attended by some 2000 supporters.

Those present at the meet included the players of discord --- Rahim Nabi, Malswamatulunga and M Suresh.

Talking to the media Mohameddan Sporting President M J Akbar said, ''This is transfer season and all the clubs will make maximum effort to to get the players they want. So let them do it the fair way.'' ''We are all professionals. Chandan Das did not want to play for us. We did not stop him. Good luck to him. If his heart is not with Mohameddan Sporting then let his shirt not be of the club,'' he said.

Asked about the present status of the three players, he said, ''You have seen the three players were here. They want to play for this club. They will write to the club requesting it to return their tokens. We will take it on from what the club replies. But we know we are on the right track and we will see it till the end.'' ''We just want the IFA to act as a neutral arbitrator. We are here to play football and our request to the others is not to trip us before the game has started. We hope IFA will find a solution that is not protracted,'' he said.
