ACB traps agriculture officer
Hyderabad, June 2 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped Bojja Rambabu, assistant director of agriculture, Narsannapet of Srikakulam district, while accepting bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant.
The ACB officials of Vizianagaram Range, on a complaint from Pydi Murahari arrested the officer, who demanded an illegal gratification for approving the PRC arrears bill of Rs 19000.
The amount was due to the complainant's father Pydi Narayana Murhty who retired from service in June 2005 as an Agricultural Extension Officer in the agriculture department and for sending the same to the treasury.
The tainted amount was recovered from a small bag belonging to the accused officer.
