8 expat oil workers kidnapped from Nigeria rig

LAGOS, Jun 2: Eight foreign oil workers were kidnapped in an attack today on an offshore oil rig in Nigeria, an executive from one of the companies that operate the rig told Reuters.

''Some unknown persons boarded the rig at 3:00 am (0730IST) and took eight workers. They are six from the UK, one Canadian and one from the US,'' the executive said, asking not to be identified so his company would not become a target.
