4.7 lakh students cleared WBSE examinations
Kolkata, Jun 02 : A total of 4.7 lakh students successfully cleared this year's West Bengal Board Of Secondary Education(WBSE) exminations.
Announcing this here today Board secretary Swapan Kumar Sarkar said, "a total of 7,51,459 candidates had appeared in this year's Madhyamik examinations of whom 4,70,239 cleared the exams." A total of 64.95 per cent students have cleared the exams which is a drop of 5 per cent from last year's results.
He also said that while 1,13,855 students passed in the first division, 2,47,051 did so in the second division and 1,09,323 did so in third division. 31,652 students have got star marks.
He also informed while there are 83 reported against results, there are 38 results withheld and eight incomplete marksheets.
It has been learnt that Bijit Singha of Bankura has come first with a total of 787 while Gautam Sheet has come second with one mark less.
