Zydus Cadila to market Warfarin tablets

New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) Zydus Cadila, Ahmedabad based pharma company, today announced it has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market Warfarin tablets, an anti-coagulant drug.

The group plans to launch the product within a month's time. The branded sales of the product in 2005 was reported to be over 210 million dollars.

The drug which falls in the cardiovascular segment comes out in different strengths of 1 mg, 2 mg, 2.5 mg, 3 mg, 4 mg, 5 mg, 6 mg, 7.5 mg and 10 mg.

The group which now has a total of 14 approvals is likely to have considerable competitive advantage in this product as it will be sourcing the API from its own USFDA approved manufacturing facility at Dabhasa.
