Southwest monsoon further advances in the remaining parts of Konkan

Pune, June 1 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Konkan.

The southwest has been vigorous in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of south Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and of north Madhya Pradesh. In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of coastal Orissa, Uttaranchal and were above normal in some parts of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, Kutch and in remaining parts of west Rajasthan and were below normal in some parts of interior Orissa, Vidarbha, Gujarat region and Chattisgarh.

They were normal over the rest of the region.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at many places in Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Bihar , Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra and south interior Karnataka.

Rain or thunershowers have also occurred at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Andaman and Nicobar and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
