Registration number used by terrorists that of a moped

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, June 1 (UNI) The registration number of the white ambassador car that was used by suspected terrorists in Nagpur this morning, was actually the registration number of a moped, RTO officials said here today.

Talking to UNI, Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Aurangabad, S M Salame said the number MH20-B8979 has been allotted to a moped by his office here.

The Nagpur police, who spotted the white ambassador car bearing the registration number MH20-B8979 in which the three terrorists were travelling and headed towards the RSS headquarters, was actually the number of a Sunny moped owned by Babu Madat Ali, he said.

The moped was originally owned by Amrut Apparao, a resident of Aurangabad, and later transferred to the present owner who is a resident of the ST Colony here, RTO office sources said.
