Rastogi bows out to Shokeen in ITF Futures

Dehradun, Jun 1 (UNI) Karan Rastogi's campaign in the ITF Men's Future's Tennis Tournament ended today with 6-3, 7-5 loss to Vivek Shokeen in the quarterfinal.

Delhi ITF champion, Rastogi was not in his usual form as he easily gave away the first set. His effort to make a come back in second set was hampered as Shokeen withstood the challenge and show him the exit door.

In another quarterfinal match, third seed America's Nick Monroe, who lost to Rastogi in the final in Delhi, kept his winning spree intact and easily prevailed over eighth seed Vinod Sridhar 6-3, 6-1.

Sixth seed Sunil Kumar Sipayea had to work hard to beat second seed Alexy Kedriouk Kazakhastan. Sunil won the match 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

In the fourth quarterfinal, top seed Henry Ajei-Darko of Ghana thrashed Pakistani star Aqueel Khan 6-0, 6-4.

Results: Doubles Semi-final: Vinod Sridhar/Vishal uppal beat Aditya Madrekar/Purav Raja 7-5,6-3.

Mustafa Ghouse/Sunil Kumar Sipaeya beat Vishal Punna/Vishnu Vardhan 6-7(4),6-3,6-3.
