Rajnath targets Sonia on office of profit bill
Gwalior, June 1: BJP President Rajnath Singh today quipped that Congress President Sonia Gandhi should take another initiative regarding resignation ''on grounds of morality and idealism'' in the wake of President A P J Abdul Kalam returning the office of profit bill.
''BJP leaders had expressed similar apprehensions on the bill and they seem to be well-founded. A question mark has been placed on the proposal for legislation as it has been returned by the country's highest constitutional authority,'' he said here while responding to a media query.
Pointing out that Ms Gandhi ought to have confronted the Election Commission earlier, Mr Singh added that she could not even face the Parliament and instead quit as MP.
''At that juncture, the BJP had not demanded that she put in her papers,'' he claimed.
