Modi announces reward of Rs 10 lakh for Nagpur police
Gandhinagar, Jun 1: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today strongly condemned the terrorist attempt to attack the RSS headquarters in Nagpur this morning and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for the Nagpur police.
Mr Modi told reporters that the Gujarat Government would award Rs ten lakh to the Nagpur police for its exemplary alertness and bravery in foiling the terrroist bid.
Mr Modi alleged that the removal of the stringent POTA law by the Congress-led UPA Government has given an upperhand to terrorist and extremist groups against law enforcement agencies in the country, resulting in the spread of insurgency activities in other states of the country.
The Chief Minister also urged the Centre to clear the Gujarat Government's bill of Gujarat Control for Organised Crime (GUJCOC), which is pending with it for clearance for almost two years, to check the infiltration of militants, arms and ammunition along Gujarat's border.
The Central Government should immediately call a meeting of all Chief Ministers to review and check the spread of insurgency in the country, Mr Modi added.
