Maruti vehcile sales up by 27 pc in May'06

Mumbai, June 01 (UNI) Maruti Udyog Ltd has sold 50,904 vehicles in the domestic market in May 2006, an increase of 27.24 per cent over the corresponding period in last year.

Announcing this, the company said it had sold 40,006 vehicles in the domestic market in May 2005. In all, Maruti sold 53,396 vehicles in May 2006, which includes 2,492 units of exports.

The companys volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 38.56 per cent, in A3 by 9.93 per cent and in A1 segments by 10.25 per cent during the month compared to sales in May 2005.
