Kerala's P J Vinod lead on the opening day
New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) P J Vinod of Kerala took the lead on the day one events of the men's decathlon in the 2nd national combined event competition at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here today National record holder Jora Singh was absent on the 100m line in the morning. He was down with viral fever for last couple of days.
P J Vinod whose total tally of points after five events (100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400mh) was 3597, established a huge lead over nearest rival N Rajaservai of Tamil-nadu while Maharashtra's Gulam Rabbani Ansari scored 2124 points.
