Jet partners with Thai, Austrian for flyer prog
New Delhi, June 1: Jet Airways has inducted an Airbus A330-200 aircraft into its fleet besides joining hands with Austrian Airlines and Thai Airways International for reciprocal frequent flyer programmes.
The A330 takes the airlines fleet size to 55. Powered by two Rolls Royce Trent 772B engines, the A330 aircraft can carry 226 passengers with a maximum take-off weight of 233 tonnes.
The maiden commercial flight of this aircraft will be on June 13 and will then operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Delhi to London Heathrow.
Meanwhile, the country's largest domestic airline has joined hands with Austrian Airlines and Thai Airways International for reciprocal frequent flyer programmes.
The tie-up will offer Jet Privilege members the benefits on the networks of Austrian and Thai. The agreement comes in to effect from today and will allow members to accrue and redeem JP Miles while traveling on all flights marketed and operated by the two international airlines.
With daily flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore to Bangkok, Thai connects 73 destinations in 35 countries with 800 weekly flights. Austrian, flying daily from Delhi and five times a week from Mumbai to Vienna, has a global network covering 130 destinations in 66 countries.
This is in addition to Jet Airways' network of over 320 flights to 48 destinations in India and overseas. Its JP programme partners include KLM, Northwest, British Airways, Gulf Air, Qantas Airways, Lufthansa and now Thai and Austrian.
