Injured Bengal tourists come home tomorrow

Kolkata, Jun 1(UNI) The tourits from West Bengal, who were injured in terrorists' grenade attacks in Srinagar yesterday, are likely to return home by a special flight tomorrow.

" We are making all arrangements to bring them back ", West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee told reporters here.

Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb said the state governmnet had been in touched with the Centre for arranging a special flight so that the tourists return tomorrow.

Mr Deb told reporters the tourists could not be brought here today because necessary certificates from the attending doctors in Srinagar hospital could not be obtained so far.

Altogether 22 vacationers from the state were injured in simultaneous grenade attacks by terrorists on two buses near Dal Lake.

The incident triggered a panic among holiday makers and tour operators across the state, going for cancellation of trips to the Kashmir valley.

Meanwhile, veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu expressed grief at the incident and said the tourists should not have gone there. "I do not understand why people go there because the law and order situation is not good," he told reporters.
