Indian students prefer to pursue higher education in Qatar

Dubai, June 1 (UNI) More Indian students in Qatar are opting to pursue higher education in this Gulf country after passing senior secondary level examination through distance education programmes of various Indian universities.

Undergraduate, post-graduate, diploma and certificate programmes of at least eight Indian universities are available to local candidates apart from professional courses.

''We can say from our experience that the number of parents who prefer to keep their children in Doha itself by enrolling in distance education courses is increasing each year,'' the official said.

Students who complete the Commerce stream join the distance education courses, 'Gulf Times' quoted officials of the Indira Gandhi National Open University as saying.
