India provides over Rs 2.8 mn for school in Nepal
Kathmandu, Jun 1 (UNI) India has provided over Rs 2.8 million for a school and an eye care hospital in western Nepal as steps towards economic co-operation between the two countries.
The foundation stone for construction of an additional classroom block for Pashupati Siksha Mandir School, Ranitalaw, Nepalgunj, Banke which is expected to cost 27,87,684 Nepalese rupee was laid today, an Indian embassy release said.
A Mobile Eye Care ambulance costing 10,84,582 Nepalese rupees was also gifted to Fateh-Bal Eye Hospital, Nepalgunj for providing qualitative ophthalmic services to the people at affordable costs in remote areas.
These projects, among the six in Banke district, are some of 137 programmes that are being implemented by the Indian government in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal at an outlay of 1800 crore Nepalese rupees the embassy said.
India's commitment in strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic co-operation is steadfast and will be intensified further for the prosperity and development of its people, the release added.
