Govt should hear people on office of profit bill: Advani

New Delhi, Jun 1 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition L K Advani today said the Government should take into cognizance the views of Parliament, Parliamentarians and the political leaders while reconsidering the Bill on Office of Profit returned by the President.

Talking to newspersons at his residence, Mr Advani said President A P J Abdul Kalam had returned the Bill to the Parliament raising certain objections for giving his assent for the legislation passed by the two Houses. It is only proper that the government address the concerns expressed by the President, he said.

Mr Advani agreed that the President had no option but to give his assent if the Bill is sent back to him by the Parliament for his assent a second time.
