Gonzalez knocked out of French Open second round
PARIS, June 1 (Reuters) Chilean ninth seed Fernando Gonzalez lost 6-4 6-1 3-6 4-6 6-1 to Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Montenegro in the second round of the French Open today.
Gonzalez, who had eliminated former world number one Marat Safin in the first round, capitulated after three hours and three minutes of play.
World number 63 Djokovic, who had never reached the third round at Roland Garros, will meet either Tommy Haas or Alexander Waske, both of Germany, in the next round.
