Fast track court awards life sentence to rapist in Bikaner

Bikaner, June 1 (UNI) A fast-track court here sentenced a rapist to life imprisonment, convicted of raping a 10-year-old girl child.

Fast track court No 1 judge Surya Prakash Kakra sentenced the convict Rameshwar to life sentence besides imposing a fine of Rs 11,500. The judge said the court has no sympathies for Rameshwar, whose behaviour with the victim has been abominable.

The rape occured 40 days ago and the fast track court gave its verdict after 16 days of trial. The FIR was lodged on April 21 and the police produced the challan in court on April 28.

Rameshwar, who belongs to Memasar village in Sridungargarh tehsil, entered a house and carried away the sleeping 10-year old child to a nearby government school and assaulted her.
