Explosion at British chemical plant-police

LONDON, June 1 (Reuters) An explosion took place at a chemical plant belonging to Imperial Chemical Industries in northern England early today, a police spokeswoman said, but there was no news of casualties or damage.

''There has been some sort of big explosion at ICI at Billingham,'' a police spokeswoman said. ''But we have no further information.
