Burglar arrested; Rs 6 lakh worth valuables recovered

Mysore, June 1 (UNI) The city police have arrested a notorious burglar and recovered valuables worth Rs six lakh from him.

City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood told newspersons here that Syed Moula, involved in a number of cases in Bangalore and Mysore during the last two years, had also burgled the residence of Union Surface Transport Minister K H Muniyappa at Sanjay Nagar in Bangalore on May five and made away with valuables worth two lakh and a mobile phone. He had gained entry into the Minister's house through a ventilator and broken open the almirah.

Valuables recovered from the culprit would be handed over to their owners within 15 days after fulfilling the court formalities, he added.
