All electoral rolls with photos in Haryana

Chandigarh, June 1 (UNI) Haryana has become the second state in the country after Kerala where the electoral rolls for all its 90 assembly constituencies have been published with photograph of each voter.

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Manik Sonawane today said the rolls had been published on the basis of their special brief revision with qualifying date as January 1, 2006.

He said at the time of final publication of the lists on May 31, the total number of voters in the state was 1,23,17,361.

Of them, 66,37,606 were men and 56,80,355 women.

He said the final publication had been done after a total of 1,66,068 objections were approved and names of 7919 voters were deleted. In all, 9466 entries of voters were corrected.

Urging all the voters in the state to check their names, photo and other details, the Chief Electoral Officer said in case of any error including exclusion of name by mistake, they should contact the Electoral Registration Officer.

He also urged all political parties to have a look at the published electoral lists and in case they notice any error, it should be brought to the notice of electoral registration officer so as to get it corrected.
