Low lying areas flooded with arrival of Monsoon
Agartala, June 1 : Many low-lying areas in North Tripura district flooded due to heavy rains and water level in many rivers are on a rise.
According to official sources here, surface communication between Kanchanpur and Jampui hills and Dharmanagar and Kailashahar, the district headquarters, remained cut-off for the last few days due to landslide and washing away of a bridge.
Administration in the district are fully prepared to face any eventuality and have kept the boats ready, sources said.
While the water in river Deo is flowing above danger mark, water level in river Manu is also increasing.
A youth died after being struck by lightining in Telimura and one person was washed away by flash floods in the Sabroom during the last two days.
