V P Singh dancing to Congress' tunes: UP Minister
Allahabad, May 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Naresh Agrawal today alleged that former prime minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh was dancing to the Congress' tunes.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Agrawal said the sole aim of yesterday's Jan Morcha rally in Lucknow, in which leaders of some political parties participated, was to destabilise the Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
''But, they will not succeed in their nefarious designs.'' He maintained it was clear that Congress was using Mr Singh as a tool. ''He is working on the instructions of Congress.'' Mr Agrawal claimed the Morcha rally was neither against the BJP nor the BSP, but the sole aim was to throw Mr Yadav out of power.
''The communists were our partners and are still with us,'' he asserted.
In reply to a question, he said the present UP alliance would contest the next state assembly elections together and if any other party wanted to join it, the high command would consider the same.
Meanwhile, he said UP State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) had decided to run CNG buses in Lucknow, Agra and Kanpur.
''We have decided to slash the fare of UPSRTC buses by 10 per cent during day time and 20 per cent during night to attract more passengers.'' Mr Agrawal said the Corporation will soon run 250 AC buses on different routes, of which 60 would be known as 'Shatabdi' and remaining 'Super Delux'.
''The renovation of 600 old buses has already been completed. Our aim is not to induct more buses to the present fleet, but strengthen the passenger amenities,'' the Minister added.
