TVS Motor to ride on M S Dhoni for sales growth
New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Havinig sold 65,000 StarCity bikes in April alone, TVS Motor is pinning hopes on its brand ambassador and cricket sensation Mahendra Singh Dhoni to pace up the sales of entry level motorbike.
'' The image of Dhoni as a small town boy making it big in international cricket is a strategic fit with our brand TVS StarCity that appeals to youngsters who look up to Dhoni as their role model and wish to be stars of tomorrow'', TVS Motor Company Vice President (Marketing) Prasad Narasimhan said in a statement here today.
Last year, TVS launched StarCity, a new variant of its Star brand priced competitively in the entry level segment. The 100 CC bike is priced in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 36,000 range.
According to the company statement, the StarCity bike is selling upward of 50,000 per month emerging as a serious contender to its rivals in the segment.
As per the industry experts, there is a big scope of growth for bikes in the price range of Rs 30,000 and Rs 36,000. However, with the increasing competition the youngsters are demanding, even with price, premium features like alloy wheels, sporty look, push cancel indicators and ride switch in shock absorbers.
