SC domestic consumers in Punjab to get free power

Chandigarh, May 31 (UNI) The Punjab government today gave its approval to provide 200 units of free electricity supply to Scheduled Caste (SC) domestic consumers without any restriction of connected load.

For giving this benefit, the state government will seek the necessary approval from the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

At Present the domestic consumers belonging to SC categories having connected load of up to 500 watts were getting free electricity.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet held here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
