SAAP for training, selection of Hockey players

Hyderabad, May 31 (UNI) Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) is conducting the first Andhra Pradesh, Under-16 State Hockey Tournament for Boys from June seven to11.

According to a release here today, young players will be given exposure to play on Astro-Turf and to identify their talent. The SAAP is conducting the Annual Summer Coaching Camp (ASCC) co-ordinating with Hyderabad Hockey Association (HHA) and Andhra Hockey Association (AHA), the release added.

The selection of players of the ASCC will be held at Gachibowli Hockey Complex during the five-day programme between seven group.

each group consists of three districts.

Talented players would be identified and incentive-training programmes will be conducted to raise their level of performance.

Each district will field a 14 member team, the release said.
