PSL lowest bidder for Dhabol-Panvel Pipeline tender

Mumbai, May 31: PSL Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder in GAIL's most awaited fast track project 'Dhabol-Panvel pipeline' tender with a value of about Rs 218 crore.

Informing the BSE, the company said the tender prices for pipe supply were opened today by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).

In all, the company will provide GAIL with 30 inch diameter continuous pipeline system from Dahej to Dhabol. This will enable high pressure gas to flow from Petronet LNG plant at Dahej to the newly commissioned Ratnagiri power unit at Dhabol.

The company, thereby, has effectively secured all of GAIL's large diameter gas pipeline tenders, starting with Dahej-Uran pipeline phase-I (197 kms), Dahej-Uran pipeline phase-II (164.5 kms) and now Panvel-Dhabol pipeline (190 kms), which totals to the supply of 551.5 kms.

Meanwhile, the company has recently expanded its capacity at its Kandla plant.

This expansion will help the company to include a 3,00,000 MT per annum high pressure spiral pipe manufacturing facility. The Kandla plant is considered to be a modern unit with two step hellical pipe formation technology. The newly equipped formation technology was previously used only in Germany and Greece in Europe.

PSL Managing Director Ashok Punj said, ''We expect to complete the supply of pipes to GAIL for all the above mentioned tenders, prior to the completion schedule provided by GAIL. This will enable PSL to accomplish this fast track supply. The company has already procured the requisite steel hot rolled coils conforming to API X70 quality from both international and domestic approved steel suppliers.''
