Prof Mehta becomes Russian Academy of Sciences fellow

Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Chairman Prof Goverdhan Mehta has been elected as a Fellow of the Russian Academy of Sciences for his outstanding contribution to Chemical Sciences.

It is an important international recognition as few persons were elected to the prestigious Science Academy, which was more than 200 years old, according to a NAAC release here today.

Paris-based International Council for Science President Prof Mehta, also the former Director of the Indian Institute of Science and President of the Indian National Science Academy, was involved in promotion of science at various international fora.
