People going in and out of BJP normal phenomenon: Rajnath

New Delhi, May 31: BJP President Rajnath Singh today said a few people leaving the party and some joining the fold was a 'normal phenomenon' and added that the party and its leaders who were going out should make an 'introspection' on why they were leaving the party.

When reminded about former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's speech asking the party to ponder over the leaders leaving the party without referring by name to Ms Uma Bharti, Mr Madan Lal Khurana and former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi, Mr Singh said the party will do its part of introspection and these leaders should also think about the reasons why they had to leave the party.

Mr Vajpayee, in his speech at the executive meeting, had said that people leaving the party, though very few in numbers, is a matter of concern. The party should be cautious about the problems within, he added.

To a question on the differences within the BJP over the reservation issue, Mr Singh said the National Executive debated a sensitive issue like quota for the backward classes and at the end of the day, it was important that they had come out with an unanimous resolution.

''We being a political party allowed its leaders to atriculate their views freely in the decision making chambers,'' he said.
