OGP demands whitepaper on recruitment of Oriyas in Industries
Bhubaneswar, May 31 (UNI) The Orissa Gana Parishad (OGP) today demanded a white paper on the details of the recruitment of oriya youth in various industrial projects set up in the state.
A meeting of the party's state and district officer bearers chaired by OGP President Bijaya Mohapatra here expressed grave concern over the non recruitment of local youths and displaced people in various projects set up by the private houses and the multinationals.
Mr Mohapatra alleged that the companies like the Jindal,Tatas, Vedant, Bhusan Steels and the south Korea major steel POSCO have ignored the local youths while recruiting for their projects.
The meeting demanded that the government must come forward with a white paper on the details of Oriyas employed by the industries and the total number of displacement in various projects set up in the state.
The party supported the reservation for the backward people but clarified that the economically sound people should be debarred from such reservation.It opposed the proposed hike in the petroleum products on the ground that it would have adverse effect on the agriculture and other essential products.
The meeting also decided to field candidates in the coming panchayat elections to defeat the ruling BJD-BJP candidates.
