National Wrestling Championship in MP

Jabalpur, May 31 (UNI) After a gap of about four decades, the Madhya Pradesh Indian Style Wrestling Federation will host the three-day Bharat Kesari and National Wrestling Championship at Ratlam's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from June 9.

Those bagging the first three places in the 50, 55, 60, 66, 74 and 84-kg categories will receive cash prizes.

''Indian Style Wrestling Association of India-affiliated teams from 20 states and government institutions are expected to take part and the number of contestants will be about 250,'' federation Genral Secretary Arjun Yadav said today.

In the Bharat Kesari competition, wrestlers of 82-130 kg would participate. The winner of the Bharat Kesari title would be awarded Rs 1.1 lakh and a silver mace, the runners-up would receive Rs 41,000, the third Rs 21,000 and the fourth Rs 11,000.
