Malaria claims 26 lives in Nagaland in 3 months

Kohima, May 31 (UNI) At least 17 people died of malaria in Dimapur in last three months.

The Dimapur Civil Hospital authority said here today that altogether 202 persons were admitted with malaria in the hospital.

Out of 202 patients, 136 were infected with cerebral malaria and recovered after treatment, but at least 17 died of the disease, official sources said.

Reports from various civil hospitals and primary health centres show that malaria claimed several hundreds of lives in remote areas of Nagaland, and areas bordering Asom.
