K'taka SEC yet to get reservation list of wards

Hubli, May 31 (UNI) The Karnataka State Election Commission is yet to receive the reservation list of wards from the State Government and was ready to hold elections to local bodies within a month of getting the list, State Election Commissioner M R Hegde said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he refused to comment on the reconstitution of wards, saying that it did not come under the purview of the Commission. ''It's the State Government that went into the issue,'' he added.

To a question, Mr Hegde said his present tour of the North Karnataka region was part of the preparation for polls to municipal bodies. He would soon be holding a meeting of Deputy Commissioners of Dharwad, Belgaum, Gadag, Bijapur and Koppal.
