'Karnataka CM favours transfer policy'
Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has favoured a transparent transfer policy for the State Government employees to avoid any confusion and uncertainty, the Karnataka State Government Employees Association claimed today.
Addressing a press conference here, Association President H N Sheshe Gowda said that due to the absence of any transfer policy in the State, lakhs of Government employees were put to difficulty and confusion. Hence, the Association had approached the Chief Minister, demanding formulation of such a transfer policy. Mr Kumaraswamy had agreed in principle to the demand, he added, exuding confidence that the promise would soon become a reality.
Stating that the Government had announced that all transfers for the year would end before May 15 and then extended it to May 31, he appealed to the State Government not to extend it beyond May 31 as the transferred employees would find it difficult to get admission for their children in schools.
Mr Gowda announced that the Association had convened a State-level meeting of Government employees in the city on June 21.
Over one lakh employees from all the 176 taluks would take part in the meeting, during which a seminar on 'Transparency in administration and response to commom man's problem' would be held.
On the State Pay Commission's recommendations, he said Mr Kumaraswamy favoured salaries and privileges for State Government employees on par with their Central Government counterparts.
Neighbouring Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh have raised the salaries of their employees on par with the Union Government employees.
