Srinagar, May 31 : Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the detention of six people under Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in militancy.
The court directed the authorities to release the detenues if they are not sought in any other case.
The orders came after the High Court heard the arguments from Public prosecutor and defence counsel.
Later the court quashed the detention and ordered the release of Imtiaz Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, Mudasir Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Saleem Najar, Mohammad Muzaffar Bhat and Muhammad Aashiq Wani.
The judge also quashed the PSA of Muhammad Yousuf Rather, son of Ghulam Muhammad of Kishtwar, who was arrested on the charges of stealing sheep.
