Indian nurses can appear for assesment to take up pvt jobs in UAE

Dubai, May 31 (UNI) Indian nurses can appear for assessment examination to take up jobs in the UAE private medical institutions without going through layers of evaluation process.

The testing is possible under an agreement signed yesterday between the General Authority for Health Services for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (GAHS) and the American company Thomson-Prometric.

They can now take the examination via Internet and need not come to the UAE to sit for the test, a local news report said.

The Internet-enabled system is expected to function shortly, officials said.

The examination would initially be available for General Practitioners (GPs) and nurses.

Tests for other medical specialisations, including pharmacy, would be available at a later stage.
