Heavy squall in Delhi plummets mercury to 32 Degree C

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) A heavy squall that hit the capital towards the evening led to a drop in the mercury in the capital to 32 Degrees C, bringing relief from the sultry weather during the day.

Weathermen have forecast more such squalls, accompanied by duststorms over the next 24 hours.

The heavy squall, blowing at a speed of 50 Km per hour, brought a nearly nine degree drop in the mercury in the capital, from 41 Degree C to 32 degree C as humidity during the day rose to 53 per cent.

The heavy squall and a partly cloudy sky also resulted in slight showers in the capital for a brief while in the evening.

Weathermen said that the squall today was largely an offshoot of the rising humidity levels which touched 53 per cent as well as the soaring temperature mercury in Delhi over the past week.
