Haryana backs Centre on resevation issue
Tosham, Bhiwani, May 31 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the decision of the sub-committee constituted by the Centre on the issue of 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) would be acceptable to the state government.
The Chief Minister made this statement while talking to reporters here after inaugurating a new building for a sub-treasury.
When his attention was drawn towards frequent statements made by Haryana MP Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of state Congress president Bhajan Lal, against his government, Mr Hooda said the people in the state were satisfied with the government.
Any individual could have his own measure to assess the functioning of the government, he added.
Regarding the possibility of re-employing those nurses who were terminated during the tenure of the previous government, Mr Hooda said the case was in the court of law.
He said the demand for recruitment of teachers had been sent to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and it was for the Commission to recruit teachers on permanent basis.
On the cases registered against several persons in labour dispute in mining, he said cases against some of them had been withdrawn.
He said the capacity of Jawahar Lal Nehru canal was being raised from 1500 cusecs to 2000 cusecs and 20 per cent more water was released in this canal during last year.
He said a number of steps had been taken to ensure equitable distribution of water which included construction of Bhakra main line Hansi-Butana branch and increase the capacity of Siwani canal.
This canal would now be functional for 16 days in 32 days.
Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated Nigana-Burtana minor constructed at a cost of Rs 2.43 crore at Kharkari Sohana. It would provide irrigation facility to 2700 acres of land in four villages.
He also laid the foundation stone of a 220 KV sub-station to be constructed at a cost of Rs 60 crore at Isharwal village, which would provide quality power to about 9000 consumers in 17 villages.
