Fencing work on border areas in Ganganagar, Jaisalmer now on
Sriganganagar, May 31 (UNI) Permanent fencing of international borders with Pakistan is currently on and is expected to be complete within the next two months.
The fencing of the area was temporary till now but it is being made permanent.
Border Security Forces' Inspector General S N Jain said the 12-km long fencing will prevent the entry of trespassers. He said about 12 km in the Ganganagar area and 30 km in the Jaisalmer area was bereft of permanent fencing till now. As sand dominates the Jaisalmer area, the earlier temporary fencing proved unsuitable.
He said permanent fencing of five km of that area has been completed and it would be tested for a year, before the entire area is fenced.
