EuroCor's two products get CE approval
Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) EuroCor GmBH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of healthcare equipment manufacturer Opto Circuits (India) Ltd, has received CE approval for marketing and selling Amadeus Supercross, a coronary dilation catheter, and E-WIRE, a guide wire for interventional use.
CE-approved Amadeus Supercross and E-WIRE, both used in Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), were expected to add 3-5 Million and one million Euros respectively per year, according to a release here today.
OCI Chairman and Managing Director Vinod Ramnani said ''The CE certification adds a global dimension to both the products as we can now tap almost 50 per cent of the large eight billion Dollar PTCA market (i.e. stents, balloons, guide wires, guide catheters and accessories). It is of considerable consequence in boosting revenues for EuroCor; in the first year itself, we expect Amadeus and E-WIRE to together garner around 4-6 million Euros and with a three-year perspective that translates into Rs 189-325 million for Opto.'' Coronary artery dissections and spasms were common issues during an Angioplasty and Amadeus Supercross provided the controlled safety balloon compliance for less dissections and low trauma PTCA.
EuroCOR's E-WIRE was used to guide an interventional device for restoring normal blood flow to an obstructed vessel and its key feature was that it removed abrupt transitions.
